Doolee were engaged by Rhomberg Rail to perform protective coating repairs area to Kyogle Rail-bridges in the Hunter Valley.
The scope of works included to identify and rectify critical structural elements such as gusset plates and connections showing signs of corrosion across a double-span bridge structures.
Steelwork was assessed to identify and prioritise areas for coating repair. Agreed areas were then marked up for surface preparation.
Repair areas were prepared via mechanical means which included, needle-guns, die-grinders and bristle-blasters with vacuum attachments to contain dust.
A two-coat coating system was specified for the works which comprised of an aluminium impregnated surface tolerant high-build epoxy, followed by a surface tolerant MIO topcoat
